Hot Tub Comedy with Kurt & Kristen

By 10:01 PM , , , , ,

I was recently invited by a friend to Hot Tub Comedy at The Virgil. I had an amazing time. The stand up comedians/comediennes gave us such wonderful material. Even the hosts Kurt & Kristen were vibrant and hilarious as well. I also just found out that Kristen opened for Flight of the Concords (cool band and indie tv show tbh) and is the voice of Louise from Bob's Burgers (I LOVE THAT SHOW).

I would go again.

  1. I couldn't get into Bob's Burger after the first season because it was just awful comedy. When did it start to turn around and become better?

    1. It seemed unfortunate that you think it's awful comedy, and that you couldn't get to enjoy such a wonderful show. Then again, you lurk through other people's blogs and take the time to write and leave not one but two hateful and needless comments so maybe that's a good thing. Have a good day, sir ;)

  3. I actually wasn't trying to be facetious here. The first couple of episodes turned me off for whatever reason and I generally do consider myself to have a good sense of humour. But, I just couldn't get into it like I did with a clever show, like King of the Hill.

However, I have been reading online lately that Bob's Burgers has quite the cult following. It makes me think that I really need to give it a second chance, but curious to know at what point in the series does it really truly take off - well, in your opinion, anyway. Some reviewers online said towards the end of Season 2 it got to where it is today on the humour scale. When and how did you get turned on as a fan of the show?

  4. I see - I sincerely apologize for assuming otherwise. King of the Hill comes highly recommended by my boyfriend, who loves the show. We're currently watching Star Trek: The Next Generation but King of the Hill and the new season of Rick and Morty are definitely on our to-watch list.

  5. No problem! It is my fault for not being clear in my original comment. King of the Hill was also one of those shows on Fox that started off slow, but picked up momentum over time. The creator (Mike Judge) was also responsible for "Beavis & Butthead" back in the early 90s, but the two shows are nowhere near similar.

Mike Judge also created the the "Milton" cartoon shorts that featured on Saturday Night Live that eventually turned into the 1999 live action cult classic "Office Space." So, if you are fan of Mike Judge, then you will be a fan of King of the Hill!
